ROLE SUMMARY
The Principal Oracle Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and governing the correct, secure, and scalable use of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for the SoapBox platform.
This role ensures the platform is architected natively for OCI, avoiding costly anti-patterns and ensuring enterprise-grade reliability and security from MVP-1 onward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
OCI Architecture
- Design OCI tenancy, compartment, and network architecture
- Define IAM, identity federation, and access control models
- Ensure environment isolation (dev/test/prod) and compliance alignment
Database & Platform Strategy
- Own Autonomous Database architecture and scaling strategy
- Define backup, DR, and high availability models
- Ensure data security, encryption, and lifecycle management
Operational Excellence
- Partner with DevSecOps to define IaC standards
- Support performance tuning and capacity planning
- Ensure cost visibility and governance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of enterprise cloud architecture experience
- Deep hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Strong understanding of security, networking, and data platforms
- Experience supporting regulated or audited environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- OCI certifications
- Experience migrating or scaling enterprise platforms on OCI
- Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC, ISO, etc.)
